Brookgreen Gardens
Listed on the register of National Historic Landmarks, Brookgreen Gardens – founded in 1931 – was created to preserve the native flora and fauna and display objects of art within that natural setting. Today, the gardens feature a significant collection of figurative sculpture by American artists in an outdoor setting. Additionally, the gardens have the only zoo on the coast of the Carolinas accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
